Checked on 12 September 2026, 81 of the 171 Courchevel addresses in our collection still had an arrival open across the Christmas fortnight (17–26 December), 31 of them chalets, and 72 still had one for New Year. Across those weeks the median displayed night sits near EUR 2,300 at Christmas and EUR 1,929 at New Year, ranging from about EUR 760 to EUR 34,300 depending on the address. Availability moves daily and the festive fortnight is the first inventory to disappear: these numbers shrink week by week from October onwards.
Christmas or New Year: what is actually left
The two festive weeks do not behave the same way. Christmas (arrivals 17–26 December) still showed 81 open addresses in Courchevel, against 72 for New Year (arrivals 26 December–2 January) — but the New Year week concentrates demand on the largest chalets, so the gap closes fastest at the top of the market.
Counts include chalets and apartments. If you need a specific format — ski-in ski-out, six bedrooms or more, staffed service — the real shortlist is far shorter than the headline number, which is why we confirm every date directly with the owner before quoting.
If Courchevel is full, the neighbouring resorts
Megève held 29 of its 41 addresses open for Christmas (23 chalets), Méribel 22 of 70, and Saint-Martin-de-Belleville 7 of 20. Availability is therefore not the constraint people expect — the constraint is price and format.
Megève is the counter-intuitive one: more space left, but the highest median festive night of the four resorts at about EUR 6,100, because what remains there is mostly large chalets. Méribel and Saint-Martin keep the most accessible medians.
What these weeks cost
At Christmas in Courchevel the median displayed night is about EUR 2,300, with entry around EUR 760 for apartments below 1850 and up to roughly EUR 34,300 for the signature chalets of Courchevel 1850. New Year sits slightly lower on the median (EUR 1,929) because more mid-range apartments remain.
Displayed rates are per night and exclude optional services. Cleaning, tourist tax and deposits are confirmed in writing before booking.
