What services are included in a luxury chalet rental?

The service ladder of the Alps, explained before you compare two rates.

Direct answer

There is no single answer — service is the main reason two chalets with the same number of bedrooms can differ threefold in price. In a collection like GADAIT's Alpine homes, most properties are operated with a welcome on arrival and housekeeping; many add a dedicated concierge for skis, passes, restaurants and transfers; and the signature chalets run like private hotels, with house managers, daily staff, and a private chef either included or arranged. The rule that never fails: the rate card of a serviced chalet includes its team, and each listing states what its home includes — an advisor confirms the exact service level, and any extras, before you commit.

In detail

The service ladder

Level one — the well-run home: welcome on arrival, mid-week or daily housekeeping, linen, and an operator on call. Most apartments and family chalets in resort collections sit here. Level two — the concierge chalet: everything above, plus a named contact who books the mountain (ski school, passes, equipment delivered to the boot room), tables and transfers, before and during the stay. Level three — the staffed chalet: the home runs on its own team, with a house manager, service through the day, and a chef in the kitchen for all or part of the week; in-chalet spa staff, drivers and childcare are arranged on request.

What tends to cost extra — and what to ask

Even at the top, some items are habitually billed separately: the chef's grocery account, fine wines, in-chalet massages and beauty, private drivers beyond airport transfers, and ski instructors. Three questions settle any comparison — is the chef included or arranged; how many hours per day is the team present; what does the operator handle before arrival? Put your party size, dates and expectations to an advisor and the answer comes back per home, in writing, within the working hour.
