Borgo Santo Pietro, objectively: 22 rooms on 120 hectares (3 Michelin Keys, 'extraordinary stay') versus 50 rooms at COMO (1 Key). It is one of Italy's most confidential houses — and one of its most expensive.
Roughly two to one: ≈ $1,750–2,100 a night at COMO versus ≈ $4,400–4,800 at Borgo (seen through the Michelin Guide's engine, late September 2026). COMO also publishes free-night windows (September, November–December); Borgo publishes signature packages from €2,980.
Two philosophies: COMO Shambhala is the more complete programme (25m pool, thermal suites, daily yoga included); Borgo's unique card is Seed to Skin, its own skincare brand made on the estate. For a structured wellness retreat, COMO; for author's treatments, Borgo.
Borgo Santo Pietro, unless budget dictates otherwise: 22 rooms, endless gardens, candlelit dinner at Saporium and a published couples' package ('Serenade of Love', from €3,220). COMO is the clever romantic alternative, with its Green Romance kitchen-garden dinner.
