Methodology

  • Source: the chalets for sale offered by GADAIT International on 28 October 2026, in 7 resorts: Val d'Isère, Courchevel, Méribel, Megève, Chamonix & Saint-Gervais, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville & Val Thorens, Morzine & Les Gets. These are the listings shown on each resort's chalet page on the reading date.
  • Measures: median asking price; median price per m² (price divided by living area), computed on chalets of at least 20 m² with a known area and published from 5 chalets; range = lowest to highest asking price.
  • Exclusions: confidential and price-on-request listings are counted in the number of chalets but excluded from price calculations; apartments and plots are not part of the index.
  • Asking prices, not sale prices: negotiation and condition matter. A resort with fewer than 10 chalets gives an indicative figure.
  • Publication: one reading per month, on the first day of the month (October 2026: initial reading of 28 October). A published month is frozen and never recalculated. Resort pages are recalculated daily and may drift from the index during the month.
